Our Last Day

Good evening 08IP02. After tiresome mugging of Math, I decided to drop by our class blog to post a dedication to our beloved, bizzare and forever awesome class. Tomorrow will be our official final day of lessons as a whole class, before our study days, Assessment week and subsequently, the end of the academic year for us. Undoubtedly, the school year has not yet ended. However, tomorrow will mark the last time the entire 08IP02 has lessons (Barring GC, CAAL and Homeroom) as an entire class. More than just a complete class, 08IP02 has become a brotherhood/sisterhood, a closely-knitted community, a family.

We have gone through thick and thin with each other, having sat through arduous Physics lessons, prolonged Chemistry tutorials, intense Math lessons, mind-boggling MI lectures, amongst others together. Running 2.4km together as part of NAPHA, celebrating each other's birthdays with joy and ecstatity, playing Taitee before the exams, going for movies before the exam, eating ice-cream at Island Creamery and living together for a term at the Boarding School are all varied experiences with collectively from The 02 Experience. I dare to put forth the notion that everyone feels at the very least, somewhat sentimental and emotionally attached to All of the Above. These memories will be the strength of our backs, the joy of our hearts and the pride of our souls. They will definitely help to carry us through our darkest hours, and are never to be forgotten. I, for one, hold dear to everything I have aforementioned and I sincerely write all these from the depths of my heart.

The thought of our class never having lessons in totality ever again is tormenting. Never again in our lives will will see flying aeroplanes thrown around in class, nor will there ever be the massive camwhoring sessons. Not to mention the passing of tidbits, the commotions, the sick jokes and the laughter. Come next year, we will be faced with situations that may potentially drain us of much mirth and joy. I hope that we will remember these "Good Times", and consequently cheer ourselves up. The 02 Spirit has never been one of defeat. If you are a true blue 02 Warrior, constantly tell yourself that You Can Do It. We fight the good fight, never giving up on ourselves and others. In 08IP02, friends can cure dejection and stress. That is why we are A United Family. May we always bear that in mind as we progress on in the next phase of our IP Life. 08IP02 Forever.

(PS: May The Invisible Flag of 02 Keep Flying!)

Good Luck For Assessment Week

As we all know, Assessment Week is approaching closer and closer. As the days and weeks tick pass, I certainly believe that we are all gearing up for this Final Battle. This is the battle that decides our fate for the next two years, and the fate of our class hangs in the balance.

This assessment week, may we, 02 warriors, have the courage and strength to stand up for everything we believe in. May we have the perserverance and determination to study hard, revise all our completed work, look through all our past mistakes and subsequent corrections, memorise all our necessary formulas and information. May we also maintain a humble and contride spirit while sitting for our examinations, and may we at all times remain composed and collected. May our pens flow fluidly, as with the juices in our brains. I wish 02 all the best for Assessmet Week. God Bless.

LA2101, IS2103, IH2103, IS2105, IS2107, MA2104, MA2106. WE CAN DO IT. We must do our very best and invest every last ounce of effort and strength left in the depths of our souls to do well and bring glory and honour to 02. Long live 02! May our flag always fly high!

CIP!!

HELLO!

CIP INFO.

The person that i've been communicating with regarding the stamford primary CIP has finally replied.

This is what she suggests. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU ALL THINK. MUST REPLY ASAP.

"I will suggest that the start date for your programme to be in the September holidays (2 sessions) and continue into term 4 for another 4 weeks. Selected pupils from P4 and P5 (total about 40 pupils) will attend the workshop. To avoid disruption to their remedial/ supplementary lessons, the sessions should be carried out on Wednesday during term 4. You may select any two days for the sessions in September holidays."

GRACE.

Thursday, August 20, 2009

I think I should blog something about the crazy 02 Civil War hapenning today… Such an important event shall not be forgotten haha

I must emphasise that this is the greatest war in 02’s history. 2 parties, 02 guys and 02 girls were involved in this damn large scale war. Starting from very small incident, which can be considered as insignificant, the war broke out. At the start, only 5 guys and 3 girls were involved, 02 guys democratic party with Akshay, Lam Darren (Mas Selamat) and Darryl vs 02 girls republi party with Joanne, Amelia Audrina and Brendan the spy. Besides that, there were some others that can not be missed out: Weiheng the guitarist or the pacifist, Andrew the Red-cross member (wth), Sue-Ann and Cindy the freaking lame reporters, Yunwei the journalist, and some more the watever.

After lunch time during contact, some of the Democratic party, or so-called the Tutsi as misunderstood by the reporters, were damn damn bored. They started to make some paperball using rubbish papers picked up randomly from don’t-know-where. Not yet satisfying themselves, they started practicing projectile motion, and unfortunately but intentionally the paperballs landed on the Republican’ heads. The war broke down immediately as the Republicans were very aggressive. The war lasted for about 5 minutes, till the appearance of a godfather named Shen Maoqing. The two parties immediately ceased fire because of the great influence if this guy. But 02 didn’t experience any peaceful moment under his reign. The 2 parties started an arm race (wth freaking lame). Both sides desperately built their arsenal, tried to increase their ammo and threatened each other. Darren desperately took out some paperballs from the dust bin. During this time, some projectile motions took place and victim was the journalist.

02 people held their breaths as the clock hands moved nearer and nearer to 1 PM. The war resumed right after the decline of the Shen‘s power. At this time, the journalist and the Red-cross unexpectedly joint the Hutus and a guy from China named Tianyu joint the Tutsi. The war became more and more violent, with both sides becoming more and more aggressive. The Hutus hid under the tables, when the Tutsi bravely and aggressively attacked. Brendan the spy tried his best to protect his fiancee. Chaos was everywhere so people had to evacuate, but amazingly a pacifist calmly stayed at the middle of the battlefield to … play guitar. According to our reliable sources, this guy was playing Tonghua, regardless of the paperbombs rain. The reporters were sadly attacked by a Tutsi-Indian maniac, who is believed to have some affairs with one of the reporters (hint hint the big one). Both sides only ceased fire when the Red-cross member suddenly decided to collect and dispose both sides’ ammunition.

The consequences of this war are still unaccountable. But first and foremost, no one died!!! (Is there anyone? Can leave a comment in the dash board?). According to our estimation, more than 200 paperbombs were used, which were made from about 200 trees. This definitely has some link with the deforestation, and the flood which the Asians are suffering somewhere.

The videos of the war were already uploaded to Facebook, for those who are interested.

And congratulation to the victory of the Tutsi!!!

Pictures Of Class Outing

Yo 02! I know it has been an incredibly long time since our blog has been last updated and I shall take this opportunity to just revive our dying blog. Well, its barely been two weeks into Term 3. Thankfully, this new term has not been too exhausting or tiring yet, and as of now, is nothing compared to the first semester of this year. Furthermore, we have no assignments due soon nor are there any upcoming tests! xD To further cheer everyone up, remember that next Tuesday has been declared a holiday, in lieu of College Day. WOOHOO, isn't this a cause for celebration?
In case you are not aware, we had a class outing on Youth Day (06/07/09). Most photographs are already up on our various facebook profile and you can either check Mine, Amelia's or Joanne's to view the photographs taken. However, for the benefit of those who do not own a facebook acount, I will upload a few photographs. This is also to spruce up our increasingly barren blog.

SAFRA Jurong
At Boon Lay MRT.

Andrew and Jun Hao and Seoul Garden.
Amelia and Joanne!

Along the Singapore River.
Well, that is about all, people. xD Let us continue to keep our blog alive, and not let it die like many other class blogs. Keep the flag of 02 flying high. (: Remember, we only have about half a year left as a completely united class. I know that next year, we will still all be in the same civics class of JH402, but remember we will all be having different lessons and schedules. It will be very different then. I urge everyone to cherish the little time we have left together.
Andrew

(Important) Instructions for Day 1 of Term 3

Dear students

You would know that the number of confirmed H1N1 cases in Singapore is on the rise. We trust that you will be socially responsible: if you show flu symptoms, cough or have temperature above 37.6 degress, you should see a doctor and not come to school. Please alert your personal mentor or class rep if you cannot come to school.

Temperature Taking
There will be temperature taking twice daily from Monday 29 Jun 2009 onwards. Please bring your thermometer on Monday. Remind your friends to do so too.

On Monday, you will report to your civics venue by 0740 h. Your Personal Mentor will be there to take your attendance and temperature. Please bring your Travel Declaration Form and hand it to your PM too.

Common Tests and Lessons
After the temperature taking exercise is over, JH3, SH1 and SH2 students will proceed to their respective common tests venue for common tests. The first test will start at 0845.

For JH1 and JH4 students, you will continue with normal lessons.

If you need any clarifications, please approach your Personal Mentor or email me at low_chun_meng@moe.gov.sg.

Thank you.

CIP

hey class,
the teachers that i emailed did not reply me regarding the cip at zheng hua.
so i was wondering if you all would be interested in this cip.

Dear all, The Ulu Pandan Star Enrichment programme would like to invite NJC students to be involved in the development and delivery of enrichment modules. The total duration of involvement for each module is estimated to be 8 to 10 weeks, comprising 6-8 weeks of preparation, and 1-2 weeks of delivery. The first module is titled “Fox and Hounds”. It’s a 4-hour (2 weeks) play-and-learn module for primary school kids from needy families. They will be having the first meeting with volunteers on 23 April, coming Thu, 5.30pm at Blk 3 Ghim Moh Road to discuss and assign roles for the team. Actual workshops will be held in the evenings. Whilst they are not able to schedule their meetings/workshops to be on Wed 2-4pm, they hope that a few NJCians would be interested to join our programme. Attached is brief info about the Enrichment program. *Classes which are unable to commit to class CIP on Weds afternoon may want to consider this program. OR students who want to be engaged in more CIP.

- Mastered several languages, including German, French, Hindi
- He was eager to learn everything that he did not know of before. (newfound motivation)

- Wrote journals, papers and books, which became his invaluable legacy
- Started to master music, art, and other science-unrelated abilities

PERSONALITY:

EMOTIONAL:

Alice Kinnians:
- She likes Charlie.

Mr. Donner:
- He lives with Charlie for 17 years.
- He treats Charlie like his own son and always looked out for him.

Bakery boys:
- They always humiliated, bullied and made fun of him.
- However they still liked him, partly because he did not fight back.

How is Charlie treated by others after his decline?

Alice Kinnians:

- She tried to console him
- She came to live with him and helped him everything.
- Pity.

Dr Strauss:
- He always tried to come and help Charlie, treating him like a normal patient, but usually Charlie rejected his help.

Fay Lillman:

- Actually she did not see the change in Charlie
- Her attitude towards Charlie did not change much until she disappeared of Charlie’s life.

Meyer Klaus:
- Amused and humiliated Charlie.
- He treated Charlie like how the bakery boys previously treated Charlie.

Mr Donner and the bakery boys:
- Pity.
- More understanding.
- Ready to accept him back to work.

HEY PEOPLE! FEELS GOOD TO BE HOME RIGHTTT! ;D Haha. Better enjoy the last night of your nice soft bed before going back to boarding school on sunday night! Heh. xD

Anyway, here are some details in case you haven't be checking KM.
1. Students who have signed up to watch the Winters Tale (namelist attached) are to do the following:
1) Obtain 'permission to be out of boarding after 6pm' forms from the Boarding school. Get Ms Soon to sign them (put them in my letter tray) before Tuesday
2) Make arrangements for your dinner to be kept for you next Tuesday 31st March
3) Read up about Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale.
4) Meet at 2.00pm in the atrium on Tuesday 31st March. Please ask your subject tutors to dismiss you at 2pm sharp and quickly make your way to the atrium. If you are not there by 2.10pm, we will leave without you and you will need to pay the full $73 for your ticket. If you cannot make it, please find a replacement or pay the full $73.

The bus back from the Esplanade will depart at 6.30pm. We will thus be back at the Boarding School by 7-7.30pm, depending on traffic.

Hope you're looking forward to the performance!

2. Drumming Fusion for JH4 & SH1: 2 Apr 7.30pm - 8.30pm LT5
Attn all JH4 & SH1 (09SH07-09SH018) to attend this enrichment programme on fusion drumming at LT5.

Students who are participating in SYF are excused but you are always welcome to join us for an exciting drumming session!

3. All those people who didn't hand in their faulty progress report last year, PLEASE hand it back on MONDAY or write a parent's letter if you can't find it. Or else you WON'T get back your progress report for this term.

Yeah anyway, This is the poster for the terra BBQ thing and some other stuff going on. (Click on the pic to enlarge) All the details should be there. And we will be staying at the boarding school anyway, so it's a good thing we get to stay out late. (And maybe skip study time if there is, hehe. xD) And the next day is the Thursday which is a half day so we can sleep in until 11.30. Yup.

Thursday, March 5, 2009

Good morning everyone! There are two announcements for today! First announcement, for all JH402, all JH402, please be reminded that the 5 suvat equation will be tested in Physics interim test next week. Please remember that these 5 equations are very important. In case you forget some of them, here are SUVAT:

1) s = ut + 0.5 at2 (v missing)

2) v = u + at (s missing)

3) v2 = u2 + 2as (t missing)

4) s = (v + u) * t/2 (a missing)

5) s = vt - 0.5 at2 (u missing)

Actually you do not need to know all of them, just need to know the first three equations, that's enough. Yeah, and please do a lot of practice on them as well as on the free body diagram and vectors, the things that Mr Sim has covered.
Second announcement, for all JH402 participating in the toy making assignment! All JH402 participating in the toy making assignment, please send at MOST 2 , AT LEAST 1 PERSON of the team to SINGAPORE POLY in Wednesday March 18th for a briefing or lecture (something like that) at 8 30. NO transport will be provided.

Ok that's all for today, let's enjoy the Maktab part of Andrew and the school song!
Happy mugging everyone! Jiayou for ass week!!!

Lam.

Assessment Week

Hey 02,

I just wanted to take this wonderful opportunity to wish everyone all the best and in your mugging, revision and consolidation. I want to urge everyone to press on, and be extra hardworking in this final lap of 8 days.

I'd like to sincerely wish everyone a Quantum of Solace (Peace of Mind), a dilligent and fighting spirit, a sharp and vivid memory, as well as correct answering skills and techniques to aptly handle test questions. With faith, perserverance and hard work, I am fully confident the tests will fall like domino blocks at our feet!

May we all emerge triumphant and victorious out of this first assessment week in our IP2/JH4 year of 2009. Let us restore academic glory back to 08Ip02, as we did last year in 2008! 02 Louder!

Andrew
